Our club’s 2017 project in Tanzania was to complete a well so that several thousand Masai people living in Longido, Tanzania near the Serengeti Plain could have clean water. While our members were visiting there in 2019, they noticed that the elementary school children did not have a toilet or a place to wash their hands.
Poor sanitation and hygeine does not make for good health despite having clean water, so club members decided to fund the construction of a toilet facility and hand washing station. That, along with education on using the toilet and proper handwashing will go a long way toward improving community health.
